Urticaria: Urticaria can come from local irritants allergens or physical and environmental reasons. It sounds like you have a more severe case and should see an allergist for more aggressive evaluation and treatment. Steroids, finding what may be a trigger and avoiding that and time may all be helpful. Have your doctor refer you to an allergist, and don't give up, most peoples responses wain over time.

Not allergy: Cholinergic urticaria is a physical urticaria, not allergy. Benadryl is not usually a good choice because it is poorly tolerated at high doses. Cetirizine, sometimes at 40mg a day, sometimes in combination with other meds, is very effective. Understand that anything to do with sweating will cause symptoms. Seek out a dermatologist.
