No: Menopause is defined as no period for 12 months and is usually associated with other menopausal symptoms such as hotflashes. At age 44, menopause is possible, but there are other causes as well. Most commonly, women in their 40's start to experience irregular or absent ovulation that leads to irregular bleeding and skipped cycles.
