Sprained Bck: You can sometimes sprain your back without knowing what caused it.In your case it was not serious and self limiting and you may not have any recurrences if you are lucky, but there is no guaranty that it will not happen again.

Not likely : Back sprains are not incommon. It's just like an ankle sprain. If you take care of it and do some pt you should be fine.
