How accurate is the blood work to see how far along in pregnancy you are?

Not very accurate: Bhcg hormone levels are highly variable in early pregnancy. Some estimation can be done but not very accurately. At a bhcg level of around 2000 a sonogram can be done which will give accurate gestational dates.
