See details: This is a disorder characterized by inflammation of the ligamentous insertions of the spine. Its predisposition is inherited through the hla-b27 gene and is seen predominantly in males. Other disease manifestations include eye inflammation, a peripheral joint arthritis, cardiac and pulmonary issues. It may also be associated with psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease.
