A member asked:

Could the staples from a previous bilateral femoral/ingnal hernia repair with mesh put a baby or placenta at risk during pregnancy?

It should not: Interfere at all, because they would be covered by healing tissue in a period of several months. Consult your original surgeon to be sure.

Hernia repair: Whether done open or laparoscopic the mesh, tacks, and suture from the hernia repairs will incorporate into your own tissue. Once the healing process is complete then the material utilized for the repair becomes part of your own tissue and pregnancy can go on safely without any risk of the fetus.
