A member asked:

Over the past year i've begun violently choaking on my own spit. it happens twice a day or more. what could be causing this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See a doctor now: Have you also had trouble swallowing other liquids and solids? Troubles walking, including one' sown saliva, can be a symptom of serious problems with the swallowing tube including cancer, other tumors or narrowings, or problems with the contraction of the swallowing muscles. This could also be a problem with the voice box allowing bad things to get into your lungs.
