Difficult to say: If you're describing an after image like what you may experience from a camera flash with persistence, this may represent an aura of a migrainal event (with or without headache). If however you are noticing grayed out vision, it maybe retinal or vascular issue. An exam will help to elucidate whether your symptom is eye or other problem.
