A member asked:

Why do i have a lupus flare during my menstrual cycle most of the time? also my p.o.t.s symptoms worsen during this time how can i help this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation: Lupus and the pre-menstrual phase of the cycle are both known for being states of increased inflammation, so it makes sense that you might have this and notice it during your menstrual cycle. I would speak with your rheumatologist regarding medications that are safe to take to diminish the flare symptoms, as some anti-inflammatories are harmful for kidneys. Best of luck.
