A member asked:

How long will blurry vision from dilitation last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

3-6 hours: Pupillary dilation as a part of a comprehensive eye examination will generally last 3 to 6 hours. Sometimes it is necessary to use a stronger agent for refraction purposes, where the dilation may persist for up to 36 hours. During this time, the vision for near (upclose) work, such as reading, will be blurry. This is because the medication blocks the accommodation (focus) of the eye. This reverses.
