Here is...: Urethral dilation is used to stretch urethral stricture caused by scar after prior injury or infection, but its use has been evolved and extended to "functional" stricture like that applied to most of female urethral "stricture". Some urologists do that indiscriminately; some, only for meatal stricture. It is done under local in office. For detail & controversy, ask & talk with treating urologist
