Yes: A sunburn is a burn. It can be just mildly pink (a 1st degree burn) or red and blistered (a 2nd degree burn). There is damage to the skin cells and it can cause pain and sensitivity for several days. Always use a good sunscreen, and reapply frequently, especially after getting wet.
