A member asked:

Could either of these have caused fever and chills? 1:activated charcoal itself. 2:trying to hold in vomit for 1hr after it made me want to vomit.

Fever ; Chills: Neither of those is a likely cause. Sounds as if you have an acute inflammatory process, probably infectious, in progress and should see a doctor asap, particularly if you have true shaking chills which are often a sign of bacteria in the bloodstream. Go see your pcp and get evaluated.

1) No 2) Maybe: If you forced yourself to retain vomit, even as it occurred, you run the risk of aspirating some of the material down your throat, with the potential to cause aspiration pneumonia (a chemical burn to your lungs). Go get checked please in light of your fever.
