A member asked:

Can the optician see that you have high cholesterol?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: First of all, opticians make eyeglasses and do not do eye examinations. You probably saw an optometrist. Best to see an ophthalmologist. A look at the back of the eye can be suggestive that cholesterol might be elevated but this is not very specific. Better to have it tested by your family doctor or internist.
