Concern: I would not be concerned at this point. However, if he has an outcropping of peteciae see a doctor asap.

Not really: This is a common occurrence if the kid has coughed recently or threw up.Distribution of several above the shoulders can happen this way.Random spider nevi that look like peteciae also can be seen in normal kids.
