Not directly.: A person with schizophrenia could also have cardiovascular issues not caused by medications. Medications help the agitation in schizophrenia and when discontinued could bring upon agitation due to delusions and hallucinations that will agitate the patient and bring on a cardiovascular event especially if it is pre-existing.

Depends: Some antipsychotic medication may has risk for cardiovascular issues. However schizophrenia itself can place a patient at risk for cardiovascular issues as well.
