Get a consult: Since you had it as a youngster, we want to rule out fatty acid metabolism disorders. Even if this is "non-alcoholic fatty liver disease", which has a genetic component -- with normal liver enzymes and a healthy lifestyle, i don't see this turning into cirrhosis. Have you undertaken some serious physical training to see what happens? This would be a superb move.

Hopefully never: Distinguish fatty liver (steatosis) from NASH with abnormal liver tests (steatohepatitis). Start with a weight loss diet based on calorie ; fat restriction, avoid alcohol, control diabetes ; cholesterol (if present). Your doctor will want to monitor your labwork, re-image the liver, ; rule out other diseases. But if liver tests remain normal with life changes above, u may not progress 2 cirrhosis.

There is a solution: You can solve your problem provided you can put your heart and mind into this problem. Here is how: you need to cut down on sweets and refined sugars( but do it slowly, cutting out a little more very week). Eat more plant-based foods and cut down on animal products like meats and dairy products. Lastly you need to be more active, walk little more every day till you reach> 5, 000 steps(use pedometer.
