A member asked:

How much calcium should i take if taking omeprazole long term, i heard this med prevents absorption of calcium?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

1000 mg to 1500 mg: 1000 mg to 1500 mg but you need to be monitored to be sure what your risk for osteoporosis is. Your physician can evaluate that, your vitamin d, your urinary calcium output would give us a clue to your absorption of calcium.
