Small bump about 1 cm in size, and is risen. it is located just outside of vulvar opening on rt side. also experiencing dark vaginal discharge.

A few ideas: Bumps on the vulva can be 1) condyloma (warts), very common and typically benign; 2) Bartholin's gland cyst (these originate in vagina, but can expand to outside of vulva), typically very painful; 3) sebaceous cyst (benign and filled with white cheesy material; 4) herpes (typically with red-circle border and painful to touch. I don't think the dark vaginal discharge is associated... Likely old blood.
