A member asked:

How (or if) does eating dark choclate help a child?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It doesn't: It has become popular to take dark chocolate for its antioxidants. This is outweighed by the sugar content. The chocolate bean is bitter and the chocolate industry adds sugar to create the taste pleasure. There are better antioxidants.
