Not necessarily: You need shoes that are not ill fitting and provide adequate support. Avoid shoes that might cause blisters or sores. Consider the material they are made out of. Plastic breathes less and feet tend to sweat more. Keep your child´s opinion in mind. Fashion is important, the last thing they want are granny shoes. Always have his or her foot measured.
