Lowers LDL some: a handful of almonds a day can decrease LDL, about 0.1 mmol/dL. It might increase HDL a little bit. Mayo Clinic website has a good discussion of cholesterol healthy foods: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/cholesterol/art-20045192 Visit my website CardioGauge.com for heart health education.
