Yes: 8 injections at one time into iliopsoas muscle or bursa seems like a lot. While iliopsoas bursitis is occasionally seen, it is not common. The fact the the steroids did not help much would make me suspisious that something else could be causing your pain. Many conditions from kidney, intestine, and colon can cause pain in this area. You need to follow up with your doctor.
