Yes: Hip fractures can certainly make your leg go numb, as there are many nerves running down your leg, many of them superficial that conduct sensation. You should go see your doctor if you have numbness and suspect a hip fracture. Good luck!

Porentially: Yes potentially through a variety of mechanisms including a subsequent hematoma (bleeding from the texture)around a nerve or a stretch injury of the nerve.
