Yes, depends on...: If used correctly (taking it consistently the same time every day) birth control pills are up to 99.7% effective, meaning for every 300 women who take it for a year 1 will become pregnant. However, in the real world many do not take it perfectly, so 5-9% of women taking it become pregnant each year.
