Dr. James Lin answered

Ok to walk around...: If it's okay to walk up and down stairways for daily living after hernia repair. But, of course, don't carry a heavy weight to strain your abdominal muscles as a reasonable postop advice. In fact, no one could tell precisely how much weight is too heavy to carry; all the advice is approximate only; so, in a sense, let common sense reign our life. If in doubt, ask ; talk with surgeon. Best wish..
