A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pre-diabetic: Blood sugars vary throughout the day for various reasons. Also blood sugar tests have a certain amount of inaccuracy (about 15% variation). Some people find that sugars run highest in the morning. This is called "dawn phenomenon", and is due to various hormones that increase your sugar in the morning without eating. Stress can make this worse.
