Not certain: A single reading is not diagnostic for impaired fasting glucose (ifg) or "pre-diabetes." stress, infection, certain medications can cause elevated readings. Yu need consisitent reading between 100-126 fasting to diagnose you as a "pre-diabetic" with an a1c that can aide in the dx. But most importantly, you have the control over your own destiny! eat less carbs/sweets, maintain good bmi! g luck.

Not a problem yet: One should never diagnose diabetes or prediabetes based on a single test. The fasting reading of 104 was only mildly high and could have been related to stress, or lab error. Your should have it repeated at some point, and also do a hba1c to better assess your average blood sugar.
