Yes.: Unfortunately , yes.Our metabolism is slower and we are more sedentary. We may eat the same amount of food but it takes longer to digest it and so the extra calories get stored as fat. The take home lesson is that we need to eat a smaller portions, continue to exercise moderately and remain active.
