Although there is no easy cure, treatment can help to control it. Just know that it requires a lot of effort on your part with excellent oral hygiene and regular visits to a dentist, hygienist, or periodontist.

It can: Gum disease is generally localized to specific teeth or regions of the mouth but if it becomes severe it can spread to the whole mouth.
