Carpal tunnel: Nocturnal parathesias are typically seen with carpal tunnel syndrome. It causes pain and or numbness in the thumb, index, long and half the ring finger. Can be variable so awakening with thumb pain could indicate cts try a cock-up wrist splint while sleeping at night. Can't tell if it is medication related without a list of your meds.
