Sounds like overuse: And pulled muscle due to recent exercise program. It should improve after rest and some time. May be helpful to cut down on the intensity of the exercise, i.e. Running. If the pain does not resolve in few days then you may have to contact your doctor to get it checked out. Hope that helps.
