Not related to TMJ: As a dentist all i can say is that your symtom is not related to your tm joint as it does not come and go with jaw joint movement. In fat, you probably do not have any TMJ dystunction if you can open and close fully without pain or noise. Remember, an anteriorly positioned articular disc is normal in better than one-third the population and is asymptomatic. Look for an ear problem and not tmj.

Check w dentist: You will need to contact your dentist or ENT to check out the problems. Spasms are muscle problems and you will need to find out why the spasms occur. It may be a flare up of your TMJ issues, but you will need professional help to find answers. Check with your dentist or md.
