A member asked:

Is 3.8 cm upper normal limit for mid ascending aorta (in adults) when measured by cardiac mri and 3.7 cm when measured by echocardiogram?if no, what is

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BSA: Those numbers are in the ballpark of the upper limit of normal, but the best answer depends on body surface area. The upper end of normal is different depending on how heavy and how tall a person is. While 3.7 cm may be normal for one person, particularly if they are tall, it may be enlarged for another person, particularly if they are short.
