Excess synthroid (thyroxine): Too much synthroid (thyroxine) causes the same effects as thyrotoxicosis but it would be called a toxic dose of synthetic thyroid supplement rather than thyrotoxicosis. That is it is exogenous rather than endogenous thyrotoxicosis.
