IIncrease serotonin: Commonly used to treat depression, ssri also help to reduce the symptoms of anxiety even if you are not depressed. They work by interfering with brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) such as serotonin which may be involved in causing anxiety symptoms. Antidepressants do not work straightaway. It takes 2-4 wks for builds up ; anxiety symptoms helped. Gad, social, agorophobia, panic, sep.Ation anx.

Sertraline: Sertraline can help most symptoms of anxiety and prevent panic attacks. It may also help agoraphobia, which is often associated with panic attacks. Combining sertraline (or other ssri's) with psychotherapy (especially cognitive behavioral therapy) yields the best and most long-lasting results.
