Ecchymosis: This pigment could be due to breakdown products of red blood cells which stain the skin brownish yellow. Perhaps a tiny capillary or vein ruptured spontaneously and painlessly in the area. This pigment usually fades away gradually over a few weeks. Your physician can advise you further if necessary.
