Too much dairy: A condition called 'milk alkali syndrome' results from excessive intake of milk over long periods of time. This leads to high blood calcium, leading to deposits of calcium in the body including the kidneys. The same type of problem can occur in people taking too much calcium-carbonate antacids, or too much calcium and vitamin d supplements (moderate amounts are intended for bone health).
