Usually not related: Usually clenching and grinding your teeth does not contribute to joint pain. However if the joint you're referring to is the tmj, the temporomandibular joint, then there is a relationship. If you continue to have problems with your TMJ joint it's best to see your dentist who can help you with this with night guards, or something else. Not sure which joint you may be referring to.

Bruxism: Yes. Grinding/clenching your teeth can definitely exacerbate symptoms related to TMJ discomfort and pain. When you have wisdom teeth removed, and your mouth is open for an extended period, the tm joint and the muscles associated with opening and closing your jaw can become sore. If you have prolonged pain, you should consult with a dds trained in TMJ tx. Take pain relievers/massage as well.
