Can be treated, but.: The treatment can be quite involved. This is a severe chronic infection of the soft tissues, usually of the armpits or groin. Cases that do not respond to non-operative treatment can be treated surgically with removal of the infected tissue. This creates a large wound that is similar to that created by a burn. Reconstruction is often a problem and the best course is to allow it to heal.
