Local or CNS causes.: Emesis or vomiting can be caused from gastric problems, such as ulcers, gastritis, gall bladder disease, ingesting something toxic to the upper GI tract. Or it can be caused by a central nervous sytem problem that affects large plexus of nerves innervating the GI system. Some examples of this would be some medication effects, some mass in the brain causing increased pressure in the brain.
