Not necessary but...: No, you do not have to fast for this test, but it is wise to not eat much within a couple of hours of any blood test as shortly after a meal your blood will be loaded with triglycerides which reduces the amount of serum available for testing. So i advise either eating a light lunch or waiting about 3 hours after eating- but that is not absolutely essential.
