Calcium score: Calcification of the coronary arteries of the heart can be seen on a ct scan of the heart. Some doctors recommend a screening "calcium score" heart scan in patients with risk factors for coronary artery disease but this test involves radiation exposure and its meaning is a bit controversial in asymptomatic patients. An echo and stress test are more common and useful screening tests.
