Thin Periodontium: If your gums are "thinning" at your age, you may be too aggressive with your tooth brushing. You may also be using a hard bristled toothbrush. I recommend that you visit your dentist and/or his hygienist for proper demonstration of home care procedures and techniques, including proper tooth brushing and flossing. Finally, a soft bristled tooth brush may also be a better choice for you.
