How long does pain from pulmonary embolus last?

Few days to week: Symptoms of pe are sudden-onset shortness of breath, rapid breathing, chest pain of a (worsened by breathing), cough and coughing up blood. More severe cases can include signs such as blue discoloration, usually of the lips and fingerslungs and into the left side of the heart and collapse.Pain will calm down when we control these symptomes.

Depends: Can be short, just at the time the embolus occurs, or can be longer if the patient develops pleurisy after the embolus.
