Most likely: Shoveling snow can be pretty tough especially the heavy wet kind and one can get pain because of the tired muscles and tendons that usually will resolve in couple of days of rest and ice the exception being if you actually fell down while shoveling and actually hurt it then you should get some xrays to know if it is broken hope that helps.

Need wrist exam: Shovelling snow is not an activity that causes a broken wrist. Inflammatory conditions such as tendonitis are more likely after this type of activity. With such severe symptoms you should be evaluated by a specialist to determine the diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
