A member asked:

I sprained my wrist around three (almost 4) years ago in (2018). i was not sure if i broke my wrist. i never saw a doctor. now and then i get shocks of pain that move all the way up my arm. is this normal after an injury this long ago?

The shocks are not ‘normal’ and most likely did not come from your former injury. Please make appointment with a PMR or neurologist for an evaluation and possible EMG/NCS to determine if there is a nerve compression from your cervical outflow or peripherally. Good luck.

You could have sustained a ligamentous injury that would result in carpal instability and pain that will persist. You should be evaluated by an orthopedist or hand surgeon. You could also have a non union of a scaphoid fracture. Seek care.
