A member asked:

Hypnotic jerks what do thay do and the symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Involuntary twitches: Hypnagogic jerks are abrupt movements or muscle jerks when you are about to fall asleep. Occasional jerks are common and not serious. When you are about to fall asleep, your brain may interpret the change as a danger and signal your body to react. If they happen more than every 30 seconds, it is called periodic limb movement disorder. Fatigue, stress ; stimulants can worsen them. Vitamins may help.
