A member asked:

Is it true you can be prescribed two hypnotics at the same time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not generally safe: i would be very wary about taking 2 sedative hypnotics together as they can cause excessive sedation and functional impairment that each drug when taken individually would not cause. there are many examples of people having accidents, falls, or even asphyxiating from inadvertantly taking multiple sedative drugs and/or alcohol together.
