Same all over: When your bilirubin is over 2 mg/dl, the whites of your eyes will turn a light shade of yellow. When it is over 5 mg/dl, most fair skinned patients will have a yellowish tint to their skin. When it is over 20 mg/dl, the skin will appear bronze. Since bilirubin is distributed in the blood and fluid, it is evenly distributed.
